Sense the dynamics of the Earth

The Earth surface deforms due to, for example, volcanic and tectonic activities, mining etc. It is important to measure the deformation precisely so that we can prevent hazards and/or assume the damages. We propose various highly adaptive and accurate algorithms such as 3-D deformation measurement by use of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) interferometry.

Disaster detection using spaceborne radar systems

In order to detect natural disasters such as earthquakes, volcanoes and floods, we have to estimate the seriousness and distribution of the affected areas. SAR has ability to observe at night and/or under stormy weather. We propose fast and robust analytical methods based on SAR interferometric analysis.

Detection of radio frequency interference

SAR shares its band with other systems such as GNSS. In SAR data, those signals (Radio Frequency Interference: RFI) must be removed prior to its analysis. We proposed RFI detection and removal system for multi-receiver SAR by use of cross-correlation of the received signals.
