IIS Lab executes a wide variety of application-oriented research. We are creating novel applications on top of AI, IoT, and latest electrical/information technology, and we also evaluate the user experience of such applications. We then strive to advocate novel electrical/information technology through creating these novel applications, and we demonstrate the future of the society from both user and technology sides.

Security and privacy is a very important topic, and IIS Lab focuses on usable security, security technology that people can easily use. We research security interface design that does not cause a high burden to user and offers safe and secure use of services, and also investigate what unrecognized risks and threats exist in emerging media and social services. We then strive to promote security practices that users can follow without trouble.

IS Lab drive various research projects by collaborating with industry partners. Our core uniqueness is that our partners are not just IT, but includes retails and media. IIS Lab strives to create novel user experience and novel values of technology through creating applications, and we demonstrate the future through interactive systems we develop through broad collaboration beyond IT.
